Visual Paragraph
I chose the quote "'Don't turn me out for those pitiful, silly friends of yours!'" (Bronte 71) to represent Heathcliff and Catherine's relationship. I believe this quote best describes their relationship because throughout the novel they constantly let other things get in between the love they share for each other. At first its other people, then insecurities, and then it's words that they've heard each other say. Both Catherine and Heathcliff love each other deeply, but it is this one flaw they let in that shatters their relationship. I believe this image perfectly captures Heathcliff and Catherine's relationship. Throughout the novel they do love one another, but their relationship is always shattered. Instead of being able to fix the problem, the damage gets worse and worse, just like broken glass. Though they have a strong bond with each other something always gets in the way of them finally being able to be together peacefully and happily.
